The Courtyard Glen Action Committee is working with the Fairbanks Area Partnership (FAP) to oppose the Rolling Creek Apartments. We applaud all of you who have taken time out of their busy schedules to attend various meetings -- whether civic, public or government, in order to protest this proposed apartment project.

Some of the concerns that have been voiced during these meetings include:
  • The financial stability of the developers Rolling Creek Apartments.
  • Flooding – New construction and the effect it will have on our neighborhoods.
  • Schools – What effect it will have on our children’s education in the future.
  • Traffic - Fairbanks already congested.
  • No need for more apartments in our area.
  • The lack of stores, buses, etc. in the immediate area

    We can be proud of all who had the courage to take a stand on behalf of our community. A standing ovation goes to all. However, we cannot rest on our past victories against this project -- there are actions which need to continue!

    WRITE YOUR PUBLIC OFFICIALS
    Write those who represent us! Let's make sure they stand behind us in this effort.

    SIGN PETITIONS
    From time to time, the Action Committee and/or Fairbanks Area Partnership will produce petitions to be signed. Each petition round is a totally separate protest, and signing one petition does not carry on to others. YOUR HELP IS ESSENTIAL ON THIS!!!!!!!

    ATTEND MEETINGS & HEARINGS
    During each proposal put forward for this project, there have been civic meetings between residents of CYG and FAP, coordinating efforts of protest, local meetings with representatives discussing the pros and cons of the project, and governmental meetings (in Austin), where the decisions are made. Officials have told us repeatedly, it’s very important to have large turnouts at all meetings.
